The
Wehrmeister family arrived at Keystone Designs with a challenge.
Design a small weekend home that can hold between 12 and 20 guests
at a time, design it to have lasting beauty and aesthetics and
allow the construction to take place over a period of 5 to 6
years. Set atop a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, the home takes
advantage of the summer breezes by placing screened porches and
decks on the west side of the home along with the strategic placement
of windows the house will never have the need for air conditioning.
Beach house detailing greets you as you approach the home with
its lap siding, white windows and a touch of standing seam roofing.
Upon entering, the aesthetic shifts to a Craftsman feel with
oak trim, square oak columns and flooring. There is something
for everyone here, even a small kids play area off the dining
hall. |
